As a registered Dance Studio that specialises in teaching the Wedding Dance and Bridal Waltz, helping Bridal couples with their first dance achieve their dreams, Ballroom Dance-In offers simple, easy-to-learn dance classes throughout the Central Coast.


Learning to dance is a lifetime activity that can be shared with family, friends, partners, singles and couples and is uniquely a universal social recreation and sport.


As a qualified professional coach, adjudicator and studio proprietor, Helen also provides technique classes and trains medallists & competition couples (all grades, all age groups) to advance their standard of dancing to the next level if they choose.

  • Helen competed as an amateur in 4 styles of Ballroom Dance, Latin American, Standard Ballroom, New Vogue, and Old Time 
  • She went from beginner to achieving Amateur A Grade (Level 5) in all styles and the professional ranks, winning numerous prestigious events, including South Pacific Professional and Asian Pacific Professional Championships
  • has danced in several Professional with Amateur events winning on numerous occasions.

Helen has proudly and successfully run the Central Coast Ballroom Dancing Championships & Central Coast Dancesport Championships held in Gosford, on the Central Coast, since 1982. Through these Championships and various Ballroom Dance Balls and Functions, Helen has assisted in raising funds for Coast Shelter and the Ageing & Alzheimer's Research Foundation. She teaches the Active over 50s in conjunction with the Central Coast Health Promotion Unit for the prevention of osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease, and falls prevention. She teaches the intellectually handicapped, and vision impaired, and at schools for PE: electives and their social dancing.

Achievements

Helen was honoured with two special achievements in her professional capacity one was being asked to partner with the author of the New Vogue Sequence Dancing, Neville Boyd, in the very first New Vogue and English Old Time technique Video Presentations that were introduced throughout Australia and overseas. 


The other honour was receiving the Australian Centenary Medal to commemorate the Centenary of the Federation of Australia for services to the centenary year, which included promoting the Central Coast Ballroom Dance Championships.

Qualifications

Helen recognised the need for quality Dance Shoes for men, ladies and children and has enjoyed a 37-year business relationship with Diamant Dance Shoes Germany as their agent. Helen is a qualified coach and adjudicator with Dancesport, ANDA, FATD, SATD and Vice President & Director of the ANDA.


Helen says that as a professional dance teacher and coach, she still remembers her learning experiences as a beginner. As a result, the simple and easy basics taught with understanding, patience and passion have become her motto.
